The 1962 Near East International Fair was held in Tel Aviv from June 5 to July 5. It was the first international fair to take place in the State of Israel since its establishment, but not the first fair to be held in the city of Tel Aviv. In the 1930s, "Little Tel Aviv" was well-known for its attractive "Flying Camel" Fairs.

During the month of the Fair the Exhibition Gardens north of Tel Aviv represented a cosmopolitan trade center with colorful pavilions and open displays of the products of the many participating countries. Exhibits on various themes from European states, the U.S.A., African countries and those of the Far East made for an interesting Fair.
